Starting a business in my 20s was a thrilling mix of excitement, ambition, and hard work. I had a vision, some experience, and a lot of passion, but I could never have predicted how much that dream would shape my life. Moxi Boutique was born from that vision—blending fashion, creativity, and community into something that has grown beyond my expectations.
In the beginning, I had a plan and some retail experience to lean on. With the support of loved ones, I took the leap into building Moxi from the ground up, navigating the challenges of setting up shop while balancing the growth of our online presence. It wasn’t always smooth sailing, but every step was worth it.
As Moxi evolved, so did the team. What started as a one-person operation expanded into a small but passionate crew, each person bringing their dedication to make the boutique what it is today. One of my proudest accomplishments has been watching employees develop professionally and pursue new opportunities, knowing Moxi played a part in their journey.
Over the years, it’s been our loyal customers who have helped shape Moxi. Their support and feedback have fueled our growth and allowed us to maintain the high standards that define the boutique. Even in a fast-changing fashion landscape, where the pressure from larger brands is ever-present, the trust and loyalty of the Moxi community have kept us going strong.
Now, as I enter my 30s, I’m embracing a new sense of balance. After years of focusing on building and growing the business, I’m finding ways to enjoy the journey while continuing to evolve Moxi. Our shift to online-only, with local pickup still available, allows us to stay connected with our community while reaching more people.
Looking back, starting Moxi in my 20s was an unforgettable adventure, but this new phase is filled with excitement and possibility. I’m ready to continue curating collections that reflect our unique vision, all while staying grounded in the values that brought us this far.
